The Federal Fibre Mills in the New Orleans Warehouse District was once a rope factory after being built in the 1890’s. I was a short trip to the Mississippi River and one of America’s largest ports. It was renovated for the New Orleans World’s Fair in 1984 before being converted into Condos. The lobby features a five story atrium with exposed beams and bricks. Today it is the finest lobby in the New Orleans condo market. Many of the units have the same features left in tact for the present owners to enjoy. The Courtyards of the New Orleans Warehouse District are what you do not see if you are driving by. These courtyards are in the middle of the city and yet could be miles away. The courtyards are common areas for all the residents to enjoy. The courtyard pictured above is the common courtyard of the Federal Fibre Mills located a block from the New Orleans Convention Center. Rooftop views in the New Orleans Warehouse District from the Federal Fibre Mills Condos. Condos make up almost 100% of residential real estate in this area of New Orleans. Most of the condos are conversions from warehouses and old office buildings. It is also becoming an area where people are buying second homes because there is a lot to do in the area. Enjoy the view!

The Federal Fibre Mills was once a rope factory in the late 1800’s. Later it was part of the 1984 World’s Fair. It was where the beer garden was. It is now one of the more popular downtown condo complexes that features high ceilings, large windows, exposed beams, exposed brick walls and one of the best common areas of all New Orleans.
